Technician Training In response to the growing demand in veterinary medicine, the AAVR established the AAVR Technician Education Program (ATEP).The goal of the ATEP is to educate, train, and certify veterinary technicians to ensure competency in the appropriate use of the various imaging modalities employed in veterinary medicine. The AAVR certification programs are rigorous programs consisting of didactic education and hands on training. The prerequisites vary but all programs include several months of training and require successful completion of a certification examination. Technicians successfully completing the education program and certifying examination will be awarded certification by the AAVR. AAVR certification is necessary to provide employers and pet owners a guarantee in competency. >>>Read more about the ATEP Veterinarian Training The AAVR provides veterinarians with an efficient way to expand their knowledge about imaging through rigorous and focused continuing education programs. In keeping with the AAVR mission statement of "responsible imaging" all AAVR certified courses acknowledge that imaging education is a process that requires time, effort, and mentorship. This process begins at the AAVR course. Self study after the course is also required. >>>Read more about the AAVR Veterinarian education courses
